Trauma Training Takeaways: Grounding techniques are most often used when someone is experiencing dysregulation, whether it’s from overstimulation, feeling overwhelmed or frustrated by an environment/task, or being triggered. Be sensitive and assume that there is more going on than you can see or are aware of. Relationships and nurturing a calm, supportive environment following regulation should be a high priority.
