This resources offers some pointers on honoring representation and publicly being affirming as a youth or child ministry. This is not a conclusive list, but offers some great starting points.

Trauma Training Takeaway: Religious trauma can begin in childhood inside of children’s and youth ministry settings. Representation nurtures belonging and elevates the uniqueness and diversity in all children and teenagers. Striving to meet basic needs, be sensitive to sensory needs, and providing a safe space to retreat can mitigate, prevent, and even heal trauma.
