Call to Worship: Always be Looking
Written by Rev. Dr. Christie Love
Call to Worship
As we come into this space today, may we all center our hearts and our minds. May we ground out thoughts in the teachings of Jesus that challenge us how to live and impact the world around us.
God, guide us to listen, learn, and look for you.
Jesus told the Parable of the shepherd who left the flock to go out and seek and save the one who was lost. Like Jesus may we have a heart for those who are alone, vulnerable, and in need of support in our community.
May we always be looking for our neighbors in need.
Next Jesus told the story of the woman who searched diligently for her lost coin, upending her home until it was found. Like this parable, may we have the determination to seek out the value of all people and may we celebrate with individuals when their barriers to success and thriving are removed.
May we always be looking for the worth and beauty in all people.
Prayer
God, focus our eyes on your paths, your purposes, and your people. Help us always look for signs of your activity in the world and recognize ways to partner with you to be catalysts of love, compassion, peace, and justice in our community and our world. Amen.
