Call To Worship: Wide is the Welcome

No one is excluded from the love of the God. God welcomes all to connect in relationship and love.

Wide is the welcome of God.

No one was excluded from fellowship with Jesus. During his time on earth he welcomed those from places of privilege, and oppression to journey with him, dine with him, and learn from him.

Wide was the welcome of Jesus.

Faith communities that follow the ways of Jesus should also welcome in the spirit of Jesus. No one should ever be made to feel unwelcome, unwanted, or unloved in a sacred space that is rooted in God’s inclusive love.

Wide should be the welcome of the church.

Prayer

God, guide us to widen our welcome in this space and the spaces that we hold in the world. Teach us to embody your open arms of acceptance, your open tables of community, and your open heart of love. May our words, our actions, our love, and our connections reflect your heart for all people without restriction. Amen.
