Call to Worship: Waiting Spaces
Written by Rev. Dr. Christie Love
Our lives are full of gaps; in-between spaces full of questions, doubts, worries, and waiting.
O God, may the empty spaces in our lives be filled with the substance of your spirit.
The in-between spaces contain many unknowns. In these seasons of uncertainty, surprise us, God. Meet us in the unfamiliar, the quiet, and the uncharted seasons of life.
God help us recognize your activity and voice when we encounter it in unexpected times and places.
May our waiting for answers, directions, healing, provision, restoration, healing, or breakthroughs challenge us to search deeply for meaning, lessons, perspectives, and your holy presence.
Most of all, may we remember that while we wait, we never wait alone. Amen.

Prayer:
God, we confess that seasons of waiting are hard. We ask you to give us strength for each of the places that we are hoping, praying, and trusting in our lives. May our time together today fill us with the strength, courage, and perspective to ground ourselves in your presence. May we look forward with renewed hope and ongoing faith. Amen.
