Art is a beautiful, powerful, and critical way we connect our senses and emotions to our community and the world around us. Art is also an opportunity to elevate diverse voices. This document provides some perspectives and ideas on how to incorporate art in a social justice and community-centered way.

Trauma Training Takeaway: Common art found in faith spaces (crosses, lambs, art with Bible verses painted on them, etc.) can be triggering to those who have experienced religious trauma. There is also trauma that is experienced when words may honor a heart to be affirming and inclusive, but there is no representation found in leadership, in members, in the books/Bibles that are read out of, in the graphics that are used during presentations, and in the art that is displayed.
