Recommended Teen Books and Media!

These collections of Teen and Pre-teen books and media, organized by topic, are recommended by FTC staff, board, and content creators to increase the content of our social justice libraries.

Books that are listed are all chapter books, but reading level may not equate to recommended age level on these books. Like most books written to teens, the themes are often relevant to real life experiences and may be triggering to some. Our encouragement, as with any book, is to do some research to be prepared for the themes that may be interwoven. These books are recommended because they deal with these relevant themes with a goal of social justice, anti-racist, queer affirming, and inclusive goals.
