Trauma Training Takeaway: “People who have suffered an emotional trauma… often find housecleaning an insurmountable task. Attention deficit disorder, depression, chronic pain and grief can prevent people from getting organized or lead to a buildup of clutter.” (1) Keep this in mind when you are choosing to who to have help organize files and keep up with paperwork being placed into your storage systems. Not everyone is naturally able to focus on tedious tasks like maintaining records for a faith community or non-profit. If you or your administrative person struggles with these tasks or becomes triggered by feeling overwhelmed and/or anxious around organizing paperwork- consider seeking out the services of a professional organizer who can help you clean out, catch up, purge paperwork, and organize paperwork.
