No matter the circumstances, every parent and child that walks into a visit has experienced trauma.
Foster care is always traumatic. Trauma is stored inside the body.
It is embedded in communication, in emotions, in perceptions, in relationships, and in behavior.
The most compassionate thing we can do as leaders is work to understand trauma and to interact with individuals with empathy.
